I
really enjoyed being in the zoom call with all of these people who are very
influential within society. I learned lots of new things and saw lots of new
things such as the dancing done by one of the instructors. It really
opened my eyes to all of the culture within music and the people surrounding it.
I personally think that this was an important thing that we did because
learning about all of the different culture within music really helped me to
understand how many different people there are in the music industry and all of
the impacts of the different types of music and things related around the world.
I am grateful I received the chance to be able to join that zoom meeting,
listen, and learn many new things about the world around me. Another key thing that
I really enjoyed talking about and learning about was the people who make all
of these cultures and traditions within music come to life. I left this zoom
meeting confident in my knowledge of the world of music surrounding me whether
that be certain people, certain songs, or certain traditions/dancing. This
class for me has truly been an eye opener and an experience that I am very
grateful to have had. I feel that if I were to recommend this class to someone
then they would for sure take it based off of the information that I give them.
Based on what I learned from this class I now know that music is also a way for
people to express their opinion on certain issues such as gender equality,
racism, etc.
